The Beatles disbanded in 1970, so technically there is no Beatles era or presence in the 70s. However, the 1970s saw the release of many solo projects from the former members of the Beatles, such as John Lennon's hit singles "Imagine" and "Instant Karma!", Paul McCartney's "Band on the Run" and George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord".
Additionally, the 1970s saw a resurgence of popularity for The Beatles' music due to the emergence of classic rock radio stations and the release of the documentary film "Let It Be" in 1970. The Beatles' catalog was reissued on vinyl and in various other formats during this era.
In 1976, Lennon retired from the music industry for several years to focus on family life, while McCartney and Harrison continued to release successful albums throughout the decade. In 1980, Lennon was tragically assassinated, bringing a premature end to any potential future reunions between the band members.
